Our four week intensive courses are designed for those looking to take their cookery skills to a professional level. The course also includes a recognised certificate in Food Hygiene and Health and Safety.

Foodworks have strong links with specialised recruitment agencies in chalet and yacht cookery and UK Spa hotels, enabling us to assist you further to find you ideal job.

Unique to our intensive courses, we can offer a day’s refresher class, as well as a practical session.

Skills and Qualifications

Foodworks provide hands on cookery in our purpose built professional kitchen.

Chalet Courses - will focus on menu planning, cooking at altitudes, dietary requirements, budgeting, learning to scale for larger numbers and many more requirements for the role. Yacht cookery requires working very long hours, so we aim to train you in preparation for this, alongside coping in a small galley and the organisation skills required for this. We will teach you the importance of provisioning between ports whilst maintaining high standards of seasonal produce. Gap year courses are aimed at those interested in a career within the food industry providing cookery skills to make you more appealing to employees.

All the above courses offer an opportunity of a days practical hands on session working within ‘up to the minute’ kitchen in a hotel or restaurant.
