Colesbourne Park Arboretum

A rare opportunity to view the wonderful collection of 300 trees from around the world with an
optional guided tour by Sir Henry Elwes or the Head Gardener, Arthur Cole, telling stories about
many of the trees in the collection. Sir Henry Elwes say, “The collection was started by my
great grandfather the plantsman and traveller, Henry John Elwes FRS, and has been enhanced
over the last 45 years with many new trees and is a true plantsmans’ collection.”

If it is a nice day visitors may bring a picnic to enjoy in the wonderful grounds and gardens. The
garden, arboretum and St James’ Church will be open from 12.30 pm onwards, with an admission
charge of £7.50 for adults and free for children. Dogs are welcome on leads.

Open Days in 2017:

Saturday, 16 and Sunday, 17 September
Saturday, 23 and Sunday, 24 September
Saturday, 21 and Sunday, 22 October

The arboretum will be open from 2.15 pm on Friday, 15 September for a private tour for the
press and photographers.
